The Data Manager/Dashboard/Reporting Developer will report to the VP, Data and Information Management and be an integral member of a new data strategy team. The Easterseals National Office is embarking on an integrated data strategy for itself and its 67 affiliates, collectively known as the Network. This data strategy will establish a data collection infrastructure and reporting system and a national survey platform to collect consistent data from across the Network to advance its purpose to lead the way to 100% equity, inclusion and access for people with disabilities and the greater community.
This position will support the development of new dashboards and database structure as new information or priorities emerge. In addition, this position will monitor current reports data sets as part of a quality assurance process identifying any potential issues either with the data set itself or connectivity issues related to system design. A critical role, as the system evolves, this person will be responsible for updating and maintaining documentation related to data governance, reporting calculations and standards based on standard system protocols and Easterseals operating procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience taking large volumes of data cleaning, preparing and condensing it into a clean, insightful, and automated formats
- Mastery of Power BI and knowledge of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for the creation and automation of dashboards, standard reports, queries, and ad-hoc reports to provide critical business insights for an entire organization.
- Experience with advanced Power BI topics such as complex calculations (DAX), table calculations, parameters, geographic mapping, multiple disparate data sources, and performance optimization
- Familiar with data visualization best practices and ability to deliver visualizations in various easy-to-understand formats, such as Excel charts, graphs, as well as reports, presentations, dashboards, and infographics that deliver actionable insights to end user.
- Maintain and enhance SQL Server database and processes with technology partner
- Document database management processes
- Train and support staff on using reporting tools, dashboards and querying including creating documentation, delivering training, answering questions, etc.
- Ability to confidently communicate and drive discussions on data and insights, context, and implications with executive leadership, donors, funders, policymakers, and technology partners
- Use data to identify where business value can be created and provide recommendations
- As the organization evolves, lead more complex projects
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced expertise with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Displayr, Excel for analysis, visualizations, and reporting
- Fluency in a statistical programming language or tools SPSS, R, Python, etc. to add insights to the analysis
- Knowledge of SQL, SRSS, data modeling and mining
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong project management skills: ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
- Aptitude for logically breaking down complex problems and communicating solutions with clarity
- Highly flexible, with the ability to execute well in rapidly evolving organization.
- Willingness and desire to participate in unexpected projects
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline, or equivalent certification(s) in similar areas of work
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in database management, data analysis, and/or reporting and dashboard development
