Our Tanzu Sales Enablement team (a.k.a the FUEL Team), is looking for a dynamic program manager to lead the FUEL team’s Sales Activation efforts. This position will be in Eastern EST, Central or Pacific PST time zones and will report into the Director, GTM Readiness & Sales Acceleration, Tanzu. While this program will be run virtually for now, there is a potential for travel and onsite training in future.

Roles & Responsibilities

The FUEL team, supports the global Tanzu sales field and works in partnership with the VMware Global Enablement team (WWRACE), to provide full-service enablement support and training to the global field teams.

In this role, the Sales Activation Manager, will manage and coordinate the scheduling, logistics, and webinar booking for all field training within the business Unit. The Sales Activation manager will have had experience in both creation and implementation of sales enablement content, tools, and systems, preferably those geared towards enterprise software sales.

Additionally, the Sales Activation Manager will help develop, curate, and coordinate all program elements with Sales enablement team members; coordinating training schedules, content releases, and any additional sales enablement content within the Tanzu Business Unit (BU).

Regarding content creation, candidates should have experience developing sales training materials and have a strong understanding of general sales language and processes. This individual should feel comfortable facilitating and leading large groups; in both formal presentations, and informal break-out group settings. The Sales Activation Manager will work to continuously measure and improve the workshop/webinar programs within the BU and create an effective, globally consistent training experience for our sellers.

On the implementation side, candidates should have a proven track record of program/project management and strong attention to detail. This experience is necessary to ensure the BU webinar/workshop program is executed flawlessly to create truly world-class experience.

In this role the Sales Activation Manager will perform the following duties:

Align with product marketing, subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholder groups to develop curriculums, and secure presenters to deliver content during trainings

Partner with stakeholders across Inside Sales, Professional Services, Systems Engineering, WWRACE and others to align program design with desired business outcomes

Work with FUEL team and Director of Enablement to leverage existing content and identify needs for new material

Monitor course completion, consumption and participation rates during training periods

Provide regular updates to stakeholders, leadership, and other team members

Build a community among stakeholders to foster collaboration

Host online learning forums to leverage regional expertise

Monitor feedback and comments to relay relevant feedback to Marketing, Field Enablement and Sales Operations

Partner with Sales & Finance on budget forecasts and actuals.

Required Skills:

3-5+ years in a Sales Enablement role or program coordinator role

Experience implementing programs successfully in fast-moving environments

Exceptional communications, presentation, and facilitation skills

Experience and proven success working at a global level

Project management detailed mentality, with a strong process orientation

Understanding of sales training methodologies and best practices

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required

Ability to multi-task in a high-volume fast-paced environment where change is constant

Ability to problem solve and “think on your feet”

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Skills:

Experience developing sales enablement programs that have had proven success across field sales, services and technical roles

Excellent communications skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audiences, including executives

Experience using Salesforce (SFDC), Tableau Reporting, Video & Virtual Conferencing Systems (including but not limited to Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and others)

Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders

Ability to collaborate fully with a team or individually as projects require
