The Salesforce Architect fills the role of software developer and business analyst for the organization. This role is responsible for working closely with the business units, development team, and executives to develop business-related software. This position will deal extensively with Salesforce and IT systems and must be an advanced developer in all Salesforce disciplines. It will also own reviewing design elements and signing off on the overall technical design. The Salesforce Architect will be responsible for ensuring that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business, ensuring that proper testing is implemented, and performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with the project teams. Additionally, this person must also be able to identify and confirm technical design risks and develop mitigating approaches. Experience providing level of effort estimates for the technical portion of solutions is required.


  • Quickly and thoroughly establish an understanding of the business processes of the business unit(s) assigned
  • Interact directly with senior business leaders to help develop visions in business process automation
  • Design and develop new applications, websites, and system enhancements in Salesforce
  • Develop interactive, data-driven solutions in Salesforce utilizing APEX Classes and Triggers, Visualforce Pages, Lightening Components, and SOQL
  • Design effective system architecture with a focus in usability and scalability. Function as an advanced Salesforce Administrator understanding configuration, workflows, security, deployment, and custom objects.
  • Proactively recommend business process automation and improvements based on newly established business process knowledge and prior experience
  • Follow software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology and best practices
  • Analyze requests for change, code, and test new functionality
  • Work with user group liaisons and department managers to establish a thorough understanding of the firm’s business processes
  • Support acceptance tests and production tests
  • Answer user/IT inquiries
  • Take preventive actions that will improve applications reliability and performance
  • Work as an individual or as part of a team structure to deliver complex system designs
  • Willingness to participate in after-hour and on-call support
  • Drive technical design and development for major components of focused solutions
  • Offer best practice advice and recommendations, often extending beyond Salesforce to topics around overall systems architecture and CRM strategy
  • Engage with Enterprise Architects regarding technical architecture and details of Salesforce and integration/migration
  • Lead technical requirements gathering and/or design workshops for complex projects
  • Provide overall Salesforce technical expertise
  • Lead Proof of Concepts and technical solutions
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers of the team and designate tasks to team members in a balanced and effective manner
  • Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives, client requirements, and company goals
  • Manage daily support and maintenance of internal Salesforce instance and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving mission requirements
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and other developers to design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing and deployment
  • Maintain a flexible and proactive work environment to facilitate a quick response to changing project requirements and customer objectives, and innovate ways to meet mission goals successfully
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and “how-to” assistance
  • Perform regular reviews on implementation done by less experienced developers and offer feedback and/or suggestions when applicable

Basic Qualifications

  • COVID vaccination required, subject to applicable state and federal law
  • 5+ years in-depth Salesforce Development creating custom components and/or extending existing Salesforce features
  • 5+ years in-depth work as Salesforce Administrator in configuration and deployment
  • Deep understanding of SFDC concepts and practices; ability to identify the need and recommend the use of apex and Visualforce to meet a business requirement
  • Experience in Managed Package Implementations
  • Strong understanding of database design concepts, data migration, and data integration
  • Thorough understanding and experience working with cloud-based systems, specifically CRMs
  • Experience with Release Management, Source Control, and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, SFDC Metadata API, Jenkins, SVN
  • Ability to define the system landscape, to identify gaps between current and desired end-states, and deliver a solution
  • Proficient with Salesforce basics, Apex, VisualForce, Lightning, RDBMS, and JavaScript Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, SFDX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems preferred
  • 3+ years working in an investment banking environment, preferably in mergers and acquisitions
  • Salesforce Administrator and Developer Certifications preferred but not required
  • Experience in user experience design preferred
  • Mobile application development experience with Salesforce 1 preferred
  • Experience with Data Loader, CastIron, Boomi, Informatica is a plus
  • Flexible and adaptable in regards of learning new technologies
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and organization skills
