Job description: Trimble’s Digital Transformation Team is seeking a Salesforce Developer to deliver complex customer-facing and internal solutions across Salesforce within Trimble’s corporate application tool suite, and to provide outstanding support for its existing solutions, creating and supporting Salesforce applications that align with the evolving needs of the company.
This role requires an individual with the confidence and capability to support optimal quality and production supporting the Trimble business. Further, this role is expected to support the growth of our development team through guidance and training of their peer resources. Excellent communication and listening skills are critical to the success of the candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Designing, building, and maintaining customized solutions within the Salesforce platform and other web applications, both internal and customer-facing
Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications and digital media
Coaching peer developers, system administrators, and business analysts with technical expertise in Salesforce and general web development practices
Providing thought leadership within and among teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions
Developing or validating test plans and schedules inclusive of all relevant use cases and business scenarios, and providing technical support through the testing process
Maintaining an understanding of the latest Salesforce.com programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups
Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing, and correcting or referring problems to appropriate teams for correction
Evaluating code to ensure it meets department and industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with supported browsers and device types
Adhering to release management standards established by the department for proper controls of code released to the Salesforce platform, and to participate in the continuous improvement of Trimble’s release management strategy
Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements, occasionally documenting requirements as necessary
Providing technical training of web-based solutions to the internal user community (including Trimble employees, contractors, and vendors)
Monitor, track, and document internal support requests and related activities
Develop Knowledge Base articles to document troubleshooting steps and common solutions to frequent calls for use by customers and peers.
Available as an on-call resource for support as part of normal department rotation, as assigned
Experience in planning and delivering Salesforce-based software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
In-depth understanding of security principles and how they apply to commercial web-based applications and web properties.
Ability to quickly develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of Trimble’s internal Salesforce.com instances and remain expert on current product knowledge both from an internal and from a user perspective.

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other relevant discipline and a minimum of two years experience in a technical environment. An Associate’s degree with two (2) or more years of relevant work experience, or five (5) years of relevant industry experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Strong understanding of general business and IT principles.
Comprehensive experience with complex Salesforce.com.
Highly motivated and able to take initiative. Able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact with and advise customers and co-workers in a positive, consulting manner.
