Job description: Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced, hands-on Python developer and technical lead to help build out its global risk analytics & data science environment for equity sales & trading, a rapidly growing and high-priority area. You will work closely with sales, trading and strats on multiple trading desks to design, develop, deploy and support an innovative risk analytics & data science environment based on Python. You will work the full application lifecycle in a fast-paced, high-stakes agile development environment. This is a hands-on role in a global team, so strong communications skills are essential.

Skills Required: – Expert-level core Python knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment
– Experience developing & designing complex, data-driven systems in Python, ideally with a Web / HTML5 component
– Flask / Numpy / pandas / Plotly / Jupyter and general data science stack experience

Skills Desired: – Track record working in front-office environment with trading and quantitative strategists
– Experience in equities / options / futures / ETF / structured products highly desirable, with flow & exotic equity derivatives experience particularly valuable
– Experience in fixed income products and data / FX / rates / bonds / CDS / CDX desirable
– Experience in risk management systems for any asset class highly desirable
– Experience in grid computing desirable, though not a core focus
– Full stack HTML5 Web development experience highly desirable
– Cloud engineering experience with Kubernetes desirable
– KDB knowledge or experience with another timeseries database desirable

Qualifications

– 10 years experience, Expert-level core Python knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment
– Experience developing & designing complex, data-driven systems in Python, ideally with a Web / HTML5 component
