Summary:

The Senior Salesforce Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and deploying solutions on the Salesforce platform often using configuration, Apex and Visualforce and other technologies (i.e. data integration). The candidate must be able to partner and communicate well with IT colleagues and primarily with our international business stakeholders. Has an ability to understand user requirements and translate them into a technical reality that is extendable and maintainable. To succeed in this role, you must be able to work directly with the platform, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and drive the implementation of business processes and applications. Candidate must be reliable, motivated, a self–starter, detail oriented, have excellent problem-solving skills, and take ownership of work. Must thrive on working with complex business problems and creating architecturally sound solutions that address business needs and organizational roadmaps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement architecture and design technology solutions for solving business problems, while authoring technical specifications and detailed design documents for Salesforce projects.
  • Have a good understanding of Enterprise application integration standards and principles.
  • Demonstrate technical development skills such as ability to scope the technical portion of a project, estimate resource requirements and develop solutions using Salesforce configuration and development tools.
  • Ensure development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Establish standards for security and high reliability and availability of solutions, and implement required processes and procedures.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality, timely, and thorough solutions to customer problems.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management of Dexcom business stakeholders, listening and understanding the business, applying experience and business insight to guide strategy and solutions, and becoming a trusted advisor to senior managers.
  • Key player in incorporating industry best practices, establishing standards, key measures and metrics.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, users, peers, and all levels of management.
  • Work with Cross Functional Teams for integrating data across several systems.
  • Maintain existing applications with an eye on continuous automation and improvement
  • Design, develop, test, document, and business solutions on the Veeva/Force.com platform
  • Communicate with IT colleagues and business stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and business solutions
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions for Sales (Inside/Field Sales), Marketing, and Customer Service business areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding and hands on experience using Salesforce programming including APEX, VisualForce pages, Lightning Components, Community Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of Apex (Classes, Triggers, Batch processing, Platform Events, Web services and APIs, Test coverage classes, Deployment strategies)
  • In-depth understanding of the SFDC capabilities and constraints of SFDC CRM application Data model, Data Architecture, and Data Management
  • Good experience in implementing and supporting large scale complex solutions and integrations of Salesforce with other platforms and technologies
  • Good knowledge of application integration technologies
  • Strong experience with SFDC enterprise and partner WSDL for integrations with vendor packages and in-house systems
  • Expert understanding of business processes and ability to apply educational and practical experience to simplify business processes, standardize business processes and provide simplified and standardized solutions to achieve the business objectives
  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to current and anticipated business challenges in the integration space
  • Some project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience in Salesforce Administration/Developer role
  • Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry experience
  • Experience following Agile Methodology
  • Understanding of data warehousing
  • Experience with Veeva or IQVIA OCE
  • Experience developing and delivering solutions for Sales (Inside/Field Sales), Marketing, and Customer Service business areas.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.); Major or Minor in Information Systems preferred.

Functional Description

Supports and maintains software–as–a–service (SaaS) and enterprise–wide applications associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of data for internal department planning and activities. Performs basic configuration, setup, and updating of application, including table definitions and access control. Enters and ensures validity of data entered into established tables, fields and system databases. Builds and produces reports using query and flexible reporting tools to meet the requirements of business management and staff. Sets up user accesses and trains users on application. Recommends changes in applications development, maintenance and system standards.

  • Possesses broad understanding of technical principles and theories. Ability to synthesize external data and research findings for application that may impact technical objectives.

  • Demonstrates successes in technical proficiency and independent thought. Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Masters degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Workplace Type

  • The Workplace Type for this role is High Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 1 day per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.
